Waiting

Psalm 25:3
"Indeed, none of those who wait on You will be ashamed;
Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed."

There's no question that there needs to be more action and there are times when I need to engage so much quicker than I do. The newer movements I see in the Body of Christ are centered around action and I love it. I'm challenged by it.

But the sense that we must do it all now is very unrealistic and it doesn't explain the existance of sleep or a day set apart to rest in God, does it?

I'm begining to wonder if I need to recognize patience as the frontier, wild and scary as it is. Waiting is a white knucked adventure. The Complete Jewish Bible uses the phrase "break faith" in place of "deal treacherously" which implies the lack of waiting is the lack of faith and not waiting leads to doing some pretty unfaithful things.

That just occured to me because I have something right now that I feel like I'm supposed to be acting on, but I can't act faithfully if I act right now.

Just thought I'd share that.

A year later I'm learning that you can't do anything without the days set aside for not acting.
